BHS Trec Training

Saturday 1st November 9-11am.
BHS TREC is a challenging and enjoyable equestrian sport based on the skills required for
hacking – navigational competence, control of horse’s paces and the ability to tackle a variety
of obstacles. These skills are tested over three phases:

  • Orienteering on horseback (POR) – You are allowed to study a map and then you have to make your way to each check point on the map!
  • Control of Paces (CoP) – You have to ride different paces between markers. You are judged on your control of your horse and his obedience.
  • Cross-country/obstacle course (PTV). Jumping is optional. This may just be a handy pony type course in the arena or may involve obstacles outside. Its aim is to test your partnership with your horse and his confidence in you.

£15 per rider plus £15 horse hire. Riders with their own horses welcome.
